•  Normally gas dryer is installed before the compressor suction. So that gas is clean and dry before it can enter the compressor

• Gas dryer is installed only if gas line has moisture content. (This can be verified from gas utility company)

• If gas is not dry this can result in moisture freezing in compressor discharge or in dispenser. In extreme situations liquid water may enter within high pressure stages of the compressor causing serious damages.

•  Gas dryers are regenerating type. Hot gas is used to dry the wet tower. 

•  Extra power is consumed depending on capacity of compressor and amount of moisture in gas line.

I dryers may also be equipped with gas analysis systems for a continuous check of gas humidity content and process management.
